You’re gonna want to pour this over everything you can.

Okay, let me show you how to make it in your own kitchen!

If you’re more into learning by watching a demonstration, here’s a quick video just for you! And if you prefer to read the instructions, the full written tutorial is below!

Ingredients:

You’ll only need 3 simple ingredients here:

  • 2 Cups Diced Peaches: Of course it’s best to start with good-quality peaches for the best flavor. This post is not sponsored, but I was gifted fresh peaches from Tree-Ripe Fruit Co. to develop this recipe for an Instagram post. I’ve been working with them for a few years, and I’ve always been happy with their peaches! You can order them here during peach season.
  • 2/3 cup sugar: You can increase this amount to 1 cup if you prefer a sweeter, thicker syrup. I use cane sugar here, but I’m guessing you could also use maple syrup, brown sugar, or another sweetener if you prefer. Keep in mind that the flavor of the sweetener may overpower the peach flavor.
  • 1 cup water: This helps to cook the peaches down and get that syrupy texture.

How to Make Peach Syrup:

Dicing fresh peaches on a wooden cutting board.

Start by dicing up your peaches. You’ll want 2 cups of the diced peaches.

There’s no need to peel them first! In fact you may get a stronger flavor and color if you leave them on!

A pan with peaches, water, and sugar inside.

Place the fresh fruit, sugar, and water in a small saucepan.

Mashing the peaches with a mini potato masher.

Place the pan over the stove on medium-high heat and bring the peach mixture to a boil.

Turn the heat down to maintain a simmer for 15 minutes.

Mash the peaches with a potato masher while they cook to help break them down.

This is how it differs from a typical simple syrup recipe: You need to cook it longer to extract the flavor from the peaches. For a simple syrup you only need to cook it until the sugar dissolves.

Cooking the peach syrup over the stove.

After the 15 minutes of simmering, the syrup should have thickened somewhat.

Keep an eye on it so too much water doesn’t evaporate. If that happens, no worries! Just stir in a little water.

You can also boil a little longer if there’s a lot of excess water.

Straining the peach syrup through a fine mesh sieve.

Strain the peach syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a heat proof, airtight container. A pint-sized mason jar would be perfect.

It’s helpful to “stir” the peach solids as it drains.

You can use the leftover peaches in a smoothie!

Storing:

Look at that jar of liquid gold!!

Cool the syrup to room temperature, then cover and place in the refrigerator.

How long does homemade fruit syrup last?

It should keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks if stored properly.

For longer storage, you could pour the syrup into an ice cube tray and freeze until ready to use.

How to Use Peach Syrup:

A peach mocktail in a Weck jar with a fresh peach slice on the side.

There are SO many uses for this delicious peach syrup! Here are just a few different ways to use it:

  • Pour it over pancakes, waffles, or French toast like a pancake syrup in place of maple syrup.
  • Use it to make summery mocktails or other cold drinks (make sure to put peach slices on your glasses!).
  • You can replace the strawberry puree and vanilla syrup in my Strawberry Cold Foam recipe with peach syrup to make peach cold foam!
  • Drizzle over a bowl of vanilla ice cream for an easy summer dessert.
  • Stir into Greek yogurt for a peachy breakfast treat!
  • Another great way to use it to make peach cream sodas. This is one of my favorite ways to use it!
  • Make peach iced tea by using it to sweeten your regular iced tea.
  • Toss a little into fruit salads for a flavor boost.
  • Use to sweeten salad dressings.
